Hospice of Humboldt was founded in 1978 by a small group of volunteers. HOH is a stand-alone non-profit, not affiliated with any hospital or medical practice. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and all donations to HOH are tax deductible. Our census is running at 106, we are budgeted at 102. HOH employes about 90 staff who enjoy great wages and benefits. We have over 100 volunteers who work in patient care, bereavement, clerical and our thrift shop. Hospice of Humboldt has an excellent reputation in our community.
The Director of Nursing provides leadership for the Medical Services Department. He or she is a member of the Management Team and participates in agency management and program development and coordination. He or she is an essential partner in compliance, quality assurance and performance improvement activities.

Requirements
Baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing. Current California Registered Nurse license. Expertise in pain management, symptom control, crisis intervention, family support, and bedside nursing with strong interest in end-of-life care. At least four years supervisory experience in a hospice, home health or hospital. Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Current California driver's license and excellent driving record. Reliable transportation and cell phone. Good computer skills. Hospice administration experience preferred. CHPN certification preferred.
