Providence is calling a Registered Nurse Specialty Coordinator- Spine (Full time, Day 8 hour shift) to Providence Saint John's Health Center Santa Monica, CA.

In this position you will:**
Working under the supervision of the Administrative Director, Surgical Services, the Coordinator, Specialty Management, of the operating room is a professional Registered Nurse with demonstrated leadership and administrative competence.
Represent Saint. John Health Center and the Surgical Services Department by interpreting and applying policies and nursing practice guidelines, planning and coordinating day to day unit operations and assuming accountability for utilization of human and material resources by managing those resources within established budgetary guidelines. Perform these activities consistent with the philosophy, objectives and mission of Saint John Health Center as indicated by:
Plan, coordinate and delegate the implementation of intra-operative care for patients undergoing surgical intervention.
Oversee the coordination of patient flow activities pre-, intra- and post-operatively.
Collaborate and interface daily with the specialty coordinators, surgeon's offices and Surgery Scheduling office in schedule review and problem resolution.
Ensure adherence to Operating Room schedule times through collaboration with department director and/or perioperative business analyst regarding schedule management as it relates to staff allocation and staffing of rooms.
Maintain effective lines of communication with sales representatives, surgeons, ancillary staff, visitors and hospital administration.
Create and foster an environment in which the patient care team can learn and work cooperatively toward unit objectives.
Assume responsibility to develop, implement, maintain and coordinate process improvement reporting and data collection process with management.
Participate in and collaborate with the director, Surgical Services, to meet the department's budgetary objectives.
Ensure completion of assigned staff evaluations in a timely manner.
Apply, interprete, and ensure that hospital policies and nursing practice guidelines are followed.
Support the philosophy, objectives and goals of hospital administration and its representatives.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current RN license in the State of California
Current CPR certification
Two years previous acute care operating room experience at a staff level
Expertise in specialty area of coordination
Ability to deal effectively with many people across a broad range of backgrounds and ages
Ability to prioritize, organize, delegate and coordinate patient care activities
Familiarity with personnel management/supervisory techniques
Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory agency requirements
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Previous experience in a progressive leadership role
