Seeking BC Infectious Disease Physician for Excellent VA Staff Opportunity in Beautiful Fresno, CA
The VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno, CA is actively recruiting to fill Board Certified Staff Infectious Disease Physician (BE considered) to help care for our Veterans – American’s Heroes. Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at the California State Univ. of Fresno, & be involved with education & teaching of Infectious Disease residents in our residency program plus medical students, medicine residents & other providers. VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS), located in Fresno, California, is part of VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN21), which includes facilities in California, Nevada, and Hawaii. VACCHCS is a 114-bed acute care, general medical and surgical center with state of the art primary, secondary and tertiary care in major diagnostic, and treatment specializations. In addition, a 60-bed Community Living Center (CLC) is located on campus and provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation care.
VACCHCS has 40,000 Veterans currently enrolled for health care eligibility and serves more than 28,000 Veterans in six counties in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The six counties include Tulare, Kings, Fresno, Madera, Merced and Mariposa.
Responsibilities include providing consultations in any clinic setting and in ID and HIV clinics in a teaching and non-teaching setting. The physician will participate in quality assurance/performance measures, research development, and maintaining internal/external organizational liaisons. The physician is responsible for participating in a variety of meetings and/or committees within and related to the Medicine Service, VACCHCS facility and other associated organizations.
The physician is involved in clinical, educational, and research programs which will require the supervision of fellows and residents through the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Fresno Medical Education Program. The physician should be board eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM) and Infectious Disease and will require a faculty appointment with UCSF Fresno.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician).
Must be U.S. Citizen – Non-US Citizens may be considered
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
Board Certification in Infectious Disease preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered
