Job Summary The Quality/Education Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating hospice compliance, quality assurance, performance improvement, interdisciplinary clinical education and documentation activities. The Quality/Education Coordinator will develop quality and education goals based on the annual strategic plan; coordinating quality and education activities for Phoebe Sumter and Phoebe Hospice. The Quality/Education Coordinator will ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures and maintain content knowledge of hospice legal and regulatory requirements. The positon will be responsible for onboarding new clinical staff, continuing education of clinical staff and education related to QAPI and compliance plans. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of Phoebe. General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
May be scheduled as needed including overtime
2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing. In lieu of Bachelors Degree will consider years of experience coordinating Quality (QAPI) and Clinical Education (Required)
4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field (Preferred)
3 - 4 years Nursing with a minimum of 1 year of focus on compliance, performance and/or quality improvement(Required)
1 - 2 years experience in education of clinical staff(Required)
2 - 3 years Clinical experience demonstrating knowledge of hospice care processes(Required)
1 - 2 years Project management or quality improvement experience(Preferred)
0 - 1 year Working knowledge of federal and state regulations and agency guidance governing hospice programs and services, including accreditation standards and ICD-10 Coding(Required)
Have near normal hearing; Hear alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice
Have near normal vision: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors
Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion
Occasionally within shift (1-33%) : Bending/Stooping,Pushing/Pulling.
Frequently within shift (34-66%) : Standing,Walking.
Continuously within shift (67-100%) : Sitting.
