The Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Center at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto, CA is a nationally recognized program with innovative patient care models, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary collaborative research, federal grant funding and an integrated robust physician training program. We have a dynamic team that is rapidly growing and we are actively recruiting for multiple full-time clinical faculty positions. The desired candidate for this position will hold responsibility for: leading the Comprehensive Inpatient Spinal Cord Injury Medicine Rehabilitation programs including care on the inpatient bed units, to include acute and subacute rehabilitation; medical and surgical problems; pressure ulcer management; annual evaluations; palliative and end of life care; and other secondary condition issues relating to an SCI.

The VA Palo Alto is a 1A facility consisting of three inpatient facilities located at Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Livermore and seven outpatient clinics. VA Palo Alto provides a full range of patient care services with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. VA Palo Alto operates over 800 beds and is home to multiple regional and national centers of excellence including the Polytrauma System of Care and Western Blind Rehabilitation Center.
The research program at VAPAHCS is the third largest in the entire VA system of care with over $ 50 million in research funding.
Additionally, the SCI Center is closely affiliated with Stanford University and is an integrated partner in the training of Stanford PM&R residents and ACGME SCI Medicine Fellows.
Candidates must be Board Certified in PM&R with a valid license. The desirable candidate should exhibit strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills with a special interest in research, education and program development. Spinal Cord Injury medicine experience or completion of an accredited Spinal Cord Injury Medicine Fellowship preferred.
