The Miami Cancer Institute is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible, fellowship trained, Palliative Medicine physician to join the Symptom Management and Palliative Medicine Division. This is a unique and exciting career opportunity to join a unique, outpatient palliative medicine service working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary oncologists and allied health professionals in a state-of-the-art innovative cancer institute. This position requires an individual with established clinical expertise in symptom management in the cancer or seriously-ill population. All clinical care is provided in an ambulatory patient-centered setting offering an inter-disciplinary care model. Clinical duties will include direct patient care for ambulatory cancer patients throughout the continuum of cancer care. Educational and programmatic development opportunities are encouraged and available. This position reports directly to Leonard Kalman, M.D., Executive Deputy Director and Chief Medical Officer of the Miami Cancer Institute.
The Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida opened in January 2017. The facility offers 305,000-square-feet of clinical services and cutting-edge technology. A 90,000-square-foot research facility will provide access to clinical trials and ground-breaking? treatments. ?A milestone for Miami, the $430 million facility will be the first in South Florida – and one of the few in the nation – to offer proton therapy. The Miami Cancer Institute, a hybrid community academic ambulatory hospital, is an alliance partner with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This alliance focuses on standards of cancer care, clinical trials, and other areas of mutual interest.
Developing an evidence-based, patient- and family-centered Palliative Medicine program at Miami Cancer Institute is critical to the success of this world class cancer center. We are looking to recruit a physician leader in Palliative Medicine who can collaborate and contribute toward the growth of our current existing program. The Symptom Management and Palliative Medicine Department is housed in the research building, and in close proximity to Cancer Patient Support Center to allow for seamless collaboration with the support center specialists including psychiatry, psychology, cancer rehabilitation, chaplains and clinical nutrition.

Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.)
Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Florida
Current board-certification (or eligibility for board-certification) in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship training required
