Accordant Philanthropy is proud to partner with Tidewell Hospice in the search for an Executive Vice President & Chief Philanthropy Officer.
The EVP/CPO serves under the direction of the President of Stratum Health; provides strategic leadership and management for Stratum Health System’s fund development programs, (including Tidewell Hospice, Approved Home Health, Connexis Medical Services, Avidity Home Health and Treasures Thrift Shop); and oversees the Philanthropy Department in Sarasota, Florida.
The EVP/CPO is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating all fund development efforts, including the annual giving, planned and endowment giving, major gifts, foundation giving, corporate giving, grateful patient and family programs and campaigns. The EVP/CPO also oversees all fund development support functions, including donor relations, gift administration, prospect research, donor data management and donor data analytics. The EVP/CPO possesses a solid understanding and appreciation for the mission of Tidewell and is an effective and passionate advocate for its work.
Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:
Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in major gifts giving and solicitation, capital campaigns and tax-exempt planning techniques.
Proven success in soliciting and closing major gifts and building and maintaining long term relationships with fund development constituents, particularly high wealth individuals, foundations and corporations.
Prior work experience that includes a comprehensive understanding of the financial management of an entity or large program.
Skills include leadership, effective communication, team and relationship management, ability to inspire and coach and staff and trustees, strong team building, strategic planning and problem-solving abilities and ability to foster creativity and professional growth.
Expertise in non-profit reporting requirements and regulations related to charitable gifts, trusts, estates and grants.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Nonprofit Management, Philanthropy, or related field required, Masters preferred.
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or Fellow of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (FAHP) credential preferred.
