The Manager, Patient Care Support is accountable for clinical operational functions regarding programs, people, systems and processes supporting accountabilities of the Patient Care Support Department. This position applies clinical and leadership acumen, across the continuum of care, to manage and provide consultation on clinical practice. Clinical practice accountabilities includes programs related to interdisciplinary practice, specialty nursing care, nursing quality, nursing research, Patient Classification System and other related activities, ensuring appropriate patient, nursing and operational outcomes. The operations management includes the monitoring and evaluation of patient care, systems and programs provided by the Patient Care Support team, supervising and coordinating activities of the team to ensure safety, efficiency, effective staff performance, optimal patient care, and excellence in service. This position practices within the scope of the California Nursing Practice Act and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies. This position reports directly to the Director Regulatory and Clinical Practice.
Bachelor's and Master’s Degree required, one of which must be in Nursing
Active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN) required
Active California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record as well as car insurance that meets minimum limits as required by state law
Minimum of 3 years related experience required
5 years increasingly responsible experience which demonstrated proficiency in the skill and knowledge required to perform the job
It is important for this person to have advanced knowledge of, scope of practice, clinical practice and quality concepts for success in this role
