The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), a national association located in Pittsburgh, serving nurses and other healthcare professionals working in palliative and hospice care, is seeking a Director of Research. This opening presents the opportunity to develop, implement, and evaluate the organization’s research agenda, programs, and services. As the Director of Research for HPNA, you will:
Develop, maintain, and support programs and infrastructure to support approved research projects and initiatives
Engage palliative nursing researchers in the mission of the organization
Develop structures and processes to support the translation of research into practice and clinical guidelines
Identify and promote initiatives, programs, and opportunities to support the work and accomplishments of palliative nurse researchers
Develop and maintain a resource database for palliative nursing research
Represent the organization on internal and external committees and organizations
Collaborate with other national organizations
Published research in peer-reviewed journals
Current knowledge of hospice and palliative nursing practice and standards
Funded research experience as a Pl or Co-Pl preferred
Self-directed and motivated with exceptional project management skills
Expertise in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license to practice as an RN or APRN. PhD or DNSc degree preferred.
