HopeHealth is seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Education for its affiliates HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care and HopeHealth Visiting Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team of dedicated health care professionals.
Under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer, this position has system-wide responsibility for managing the provision of clinical education, training, competency and development for all levels of clinical staff. Staff orientation and professional development will be based upon regulatory/accreditation requirements to support competency, compliance and mission-based performance. The Director of Clinical Education is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of clinical education and will serve as an educational resource for the leadership team in the pursuit of excellent organizational performance.
Assesses the learning needs within the organization in order to plan, organize, coordinate and participate in development of orientation and on-going professional development programs to meet identified education needs of clinical staff and students
Manages the clinical internship program with local colleges, co-op assignments including the completion of intern orientation, key contact for school and management contact
Manages team of clinical educators
Oversees ongoing annual competency development
Identifies yearly goals for the education department and staff educators
Provides support and leadership for the staff educators ensuring success within their roles
Assists with development of specialized training programs for new projects and programs to support organizational growth
Demonstrates clinical and professional leadership by promoting use of research and evidence-based practice
Maintains and develops ongoing educational networking with related professional schools, institutions and organizations including student placements
Ensures that the educational curriculum meets or exceeds state, federal accreditation and certification requirements
Consistently apply the HopeHealth values in all aspects of work, complying with established mission, policies, procedures and objectives in quality assurance, safety, environment, infection control and HIPAA compliance.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor of Science Nursing required; Masters preferred; (CHPN achievable; preferred.)
Five (5) years healthcare experience with in-depth clinical knowledge to include a minimum of two years nursing experience in a Home Care/Hospice setting.
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively with others in problem solving. Effective organizational skills.
Knowledge of adult learning concepts.
Knowledgeable in principles and evidence-based practice for hospice and palliative care; federal, state, and regulatory policy and procedures; curriculum design; performance and resource development; team development.
Skills/Abilities that demonstrate experience and understanding of adult learning; practice organizational management principles, exhibit evaluation skills; demonstrate effective communication and presentation skills; conveys computer and media knowledge; able to work collaboratively with all departments, analysis, synthesis and implementation/program planning skills.
Active Rhode Island and Massachusetts license in Nursing. (or able to obtain)
