Houston Hospice was founded in 1980 and is the oldest hospice and largest independent community-based hospice in the greater Houston metropolitan area. Houston Hospice is organized as a not-for-profit Texas 501(c)(3) and is a member of the renowned Texas Medical Center It is the market leader in quality and patient satisfaction as measured by Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc. (CHAP) surveys and Health Interview Surveys (HIS) quality metric data. Houston Hospice is accredited by Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc.
Houston Hospice includes a 33-bed inpatient hospice house known as the Margaret Cullen Marshall Hospice Care Center and branch offices in Northwest Houston and El Campo. Houston Hospice serves the Houston Metropolitan Area and 10 surrounding counties. It serves patients through home care visits, continuous nursing care at home, inpatient care and respite care, has an average daily census of 207 and net revenues of $15 million. It enjoys strong community support which exceeds $2M per year in net contributions and is proud of its robust and strong volunteer program.
The CEO will lead and collaborate with the Board and senior leadership team in the development of a strategic plan to identify opportunities for long-term success and growth, including new programs, services and partnerships with healthcare providers in the region. S/he is responsible for the overall operations of Houston Hospice and will lead the organization in the continuation of the highest quality of care. The CEO will direct the organization's robust operations in an effective and efficient manner. S/he will engage the senior leadership team in strong collaborative efforts to drive organizational performance and unsurpassed care to patients and families.
The CEO will serve as the face of Houston Hospice in the greater Houston metropolitan area and beyond to actively build strategic partnerships and expand the brand of the organization. S/he will be known as an outstanding hospice thought leader at the local, regional and national level. The CEO will participate in local, state and federal advocacy efforts which impact hospice care. S/he will support the Vice President of Development in engaging current and future donors to advance philanthropic support of Houston Hospice.
