Position Summary: The Director of Clinical Education is responsible for the clinical software and training for Three Oaks Hospice, designs curriculum and directs educational program that promotes professional excellence for all clinical roles.
Provide technical training and support of the electronic medical record for new employees and conversion to the EMR for new agencies
Develop educational curriculum and specialized training programs to enhance understanding of and compliance with hospice regulatory requirements
Assist Chief Quality Compliance Clinical Officer in planning and implementation of new employee field orientation.
Develop and implement Clinical New Hire orientation
May participate, as requested, in development of written staff educational materials for all levels of staff.
Contribute observations and data regarding joint visits, orientation, training and competency issues, as appropriate and as requested, to the Chief Quality Compliance Clinical Officer.
Monitors and evaluates the quality of the training delivery
Coordinates with other departments within Three Oaks Hospice
Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times due to the access to sensitive information.
Maintains regular, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department.
Follows all Medicare, Medicaid and HIPAA regulations and requirements.
Always abides by all regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or an equivalent combination of education and experience; MSN preferred
Valid RN license
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in facilitating clinical or related training experience, EMR experience and learning management systems experience
Experience in Hospice and Palliative Care
Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (HPNA) Certification preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theories, methods and techniques as they apply to training/education, assessment practices and on-the-job training
Outstanding facilitation and presentation skills, both individually and in large groups
Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple job responsibilities and exercise critical thinking in a fast-paced, high-demand work environment
Demonstrate initiative and independent judgment
Ability to travel up to 50%
Proficient in Excel and MS Word
Proficient with Consolo EMR, preferred
