Our team of professionals, caregivers and trained volunteers are dedicated to providing both medical and emotional support to patients and families. We currently employ more than 200 staff members and have a volunteer core of over 100 dedicated people.
The Director of Patient Services is responsible for clinical management of nursing and home health aide services as well as program expansion, fiscal and program development, quality management and compliance.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of hospice concepts, philosophy, policies and procedures as well as the ability to assess the needs of terminally ill patients and their families to plan symptom control. Minimum of five years management or supervisory experience in the health care arena required.
Current and valid NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse
Master's degree in healthcare, business or relevant area required
5 years prior experience in a management/supervisory role
Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing (CHPN) preferred (Good Shepherd Hospice will require that certification be obtained within two years time)
