Medical Director- Orzac Center for Rehabilitation

Northwell Health’s Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine and Post Acute Services is seeking a part-time Medical Director to join the Orzac Center for Rehabilitation in Valley Stream, New York. Ideal candidate is expected to be a physician with proven leadership and management skills, and strong clinical credentials. The Orzac Center for Rehabilitation is an award-winning 120-bed skilled nursing facility providing short-term sub-acute inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing services. It is ranked as one of the top nursing facilities in New York State. Awarded a five out of five-star rating for overall quality from the federal government’s U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and is in the top 10% of nursing facilities in the country. In addition, Orzac has received top ranking by US News & World Report in their Best Nursing Homes 2020-2021 publication. This prestigious ranking demonstrates Orzac’s commitment to exceptional quality of life and care requirements for our patients. Our team is comprised of a mixed model of physicians; both employed and voluntary and one nurse practitioner. The candidate may participate in quality initiatives for both Orzac Center of Rehabilitation and Long Island Jewish at Valley Stream, transitions of care and the teaching of learners Research opportunities may also exist. Our physicians have access to consultative services of subspecialties through Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital. The ideal candidate will be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with subspecialty boards in Geriatrics, Hospice and Palliative Medicine or be a Certified Medical Director. The candidate will have an interest in health care quality, stimulating cases, transitional care, and sub-acute rehabilitation.
