The Licensed Practical Nurse serves as a point of contact care for the Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee. The Licensed Practical Nurse function is to provide, quality nursing care to a diverse veteran population of varying complexity in a variety of settings - Ambulatory Care, Primary Care, OR/Recovery, Community Living Center, Community Care (Home Care) Critical Care, Long Term Care, Medical/Surgical, Mental Health, Palliative Care, Surgical Subspecialties, MHDRRTP, Rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Injury. The practice of each nurse is based on skill, experience, and research and has a direct impact in client outcomes for the assigned area and the facility as a whole. The Licensed Practical Nurse possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting. Duties include but not limited to: Communicates and interacts appropriately and courteously with internal and external customers. Maintains confidentiality of patient/employee information electronically, verbally, and written. Works and functions within a safe manner including infection control and operation of equipment. Integrates and applies pertinent aspects of the Medical Center performance improvement program into his/her professional practice. Utilizes nursing research, evidence based practice and literature in daily practice. Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately. Attends to the care of the veteran in meeting the VA Medical Center's Vision and Mission. Work Schedule: Part Time- Two work schedules available 1. 20 hours a week (0.5 FTE) NOC Shift 2. 24 hours a week (0.6 FTE) PM Shift Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
