A recruitment or relocation incentive may be available for a highly qualified candidate. The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System is currently recruiting for a part-time (26 hours per week) Physician-Pulmonary for the Austin Community Based Outpatient Clinic. This Part Time outpatient position (Wednesday-Friday) will be responsible for managing outpatient Pulmonary and Sleep Consultations. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 49-54 days paid time off per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days' sick leave, 10 federal holidays). This is based on a full-time schedule and leave accrual will vary for part-time employees. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME: Possible $1,000 per year stipend + possible 1 week paid authorized absence to attend. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. To participate in the program, you must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office and meeting program eligibility. NOTE: the full amount of $200,000.00 is based on a full-time schedule. The actual award granted will be pro-rated based on the schedule worked. The above quoted salary is based on working a full-time schedule and will be pro-rated based on the hours worked which is expected to be approximately 26 hours per week. The incumbent will be responsible for providing clinical care to a diverse Veteran population within an outpatient care setting located in Austin, Texas. Additional requirements include responding to Urgent Response Calls (URT) as Team leader in the Austin Outpatient Clinic and Interpretation of PFT's. Prior experience in Outpatient sleep clinic is preferred. Prior Sleep Fellowship training or Board Certification is not required but preferred. IF PATIENT NEEDS ARISE, THE INCUMBENT OF THE ABOVE POSTION MAY BE REASSIGNED WITHIN THE CENTRAL TEXAS VETERANS HEALTH CARE SERVICE. Work Schedule: The normal tour of duty for this position will be Wednesday through Friday 7:30 a. m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Management reserves the right to assign tours of duty as needed to meet patient care needs.
