Recruitment is open for a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for the Community Care Network, Community Living Center (CLC) and Palliative Care Units (PCU) at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center. The individuals selected for this position will be accountable to the Nurse Manager for their respective area. Must meet regulatory qualification standards as identified in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3; be a citizen, have full, active, unrestricted licensure as a LPN in any state. Must be able to physically and mentally perform the functions of the position. 1) Evidence of strong positive interpersonal/customer service skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary team members, patients, family members and significant others. 2) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and inwriting. 3) Demonstrated ability to function as a self-directed, productive team member and adapt readily to varying patient care needs and fluctuation in workload with minimal RN supervision. 4) Demonstrated ability to observe, identify, document, and report deviations from the norm, includes responding appropriately emergent situations. 5) Basic computer skills required (experience with a computer and mouse); advanced skills preferred (Microsoft word, excel, etc). 6) Demonstrated integrity and dependability. 7) Ability to work flexible hours when required. 8) Min of three years nursing of successful practice preferred.
