A vacancy exists for a Nurse Manager in the Community Living Center (CLC) unit at the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care system, Biloxi, MS. The CLC is a long term care area which provides services to adult and geriatric residents. The CLC Nurse Manager is a professional nurse who is directly responsible to the Chief Nurse. The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating a program of high quality nursing care for designated patients. Duties include but are not limited to: Provides leadership, supervision, and direction to nursing staff. Performs duties to include developing time schedules, performance evaluations, annotates or recommends disciplinary actions, responsible for performance improvement, customer service/patient satisfaction, patient and employee safety, employee relations, standards of care and practice, the work environment, and accreditation and regulatory standards. Actively develops and manages collaborative partnerships with physicians and other clinicians. Analyzes and upgrades patient care through performance improvement activities. Accountable for ensuring assigned staff adhere to established policies and procedures, maintains their clinical skills and develops and maintains administrative competency. Assists others through continuous study, in-services and participation in obtaining continuing education. Accountable for assisting in writing policies, and adhering to established policies, standards of care, and standards of practice.
