The ACOS is a leadership position that is responsible for all aspects of primary care delivery for enrolled Veterans, and the supervision and development of the staff necessary to excel in this mission. The ACOS will support the education of health professions students, residents, and fellows; and promote the development of new knowledge in Primary Care through effective engagement. The Associate Chief of Staff for Primary Care (ACOS) is a board certified, creative, experienced, dynamic and visionary leader with strong administrative, interpersonal and organizational skills. The incumbent has the administrative and managerial responsibilities for VA Saint Louis Health Care System (VASTLHCS) Primary Care Services (all Primary Care PACT Clinics, GeriPACT, Employee Health, Women's Clinic, Compensation and Pension, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and Whole Health). The incumbent serves on a broad spectrum of VACO, VISN, HCC and Medical Center committees, task forces, etc. and reports directly to the Chief of Staff. The incumbent provides services and technical counsel necessary to meet the care and treatment needs of patients to achieve maximum utilization of patient care resources in a cost-effective, efficient, and timely manner. The applicant should be a forward-thinking physician who embraces Primary Care delivered via Patient Aligned Care Team model with the ability to manage multiple locations maximizing use of virtual technology. The incumbent must be able to qualify for an academic appointment with an affiliated university. Work Schedule: Day tour with expectations of some extended hours. NOTE: On call duties are included for administrative functions, and are shared with the Chief of Staff. . Pay Schedule: The salary range listed in this announcement is a Base-Line Salary ($240,000-$270,000) range estimate for a full-time work schedule. Starting salary will be set based on locality (which may include a special pay rate depending upon location), as well as FT, PT or Intermittent employment.
