The Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Services Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the development and delivery of SCI nursing staff and patient-disease management education programs. Duties are but not limited to: 1. Orientation of new employees and evaluation of progress throughout orientation period 2. Develop learning plan for continual improvement and improvement of identified deficiencies 3. Develop SCI educational programs based on needs assessment of best practice and patient outcomes 4. Develop and implement SCI nursing education and management of educational needs for all levels of student nurses participating in clinical experience with SCI patients through specialty certification for current SCI nursing staff 5. Develop and implement of SCI patient education/disease management programs specific to the SCI population 6. Assess needs, plan, develop and implement SCI educational curricula, programs and projects to address educational needs of nurisng staff within the SCI nursing service 7. Provide direct patient education and oversight of implementation and integration of patient specific disease management programs 8. Serve on committees or project teams specifically related to SCI nursing and patient education programs 9. Validate competency of employees through annual training and education Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 0730-1600 with coverage on off tours to meet educational needs of unit staff Compressed/Flexible: Not authorized Telework: Not authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
