The Sioux Falls VA Health Care System is recruiting for a Full-time, Permanent, Oncologist/Hematologist. This position is in the Medical Subspecialty Care Line. Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic; as well as provide feedback and consultation with the other services within the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center. Evaluate, triage, and prioritize requests from Primary Care providers and others for outpatient hematology/oncology subspecialty consultations. Obtain medical histories, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients. Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other medical personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE). Provide Hematology/Oncology on-call services as assigned. Physician will be required to attend staff meetings, serves on committees, teams, workgroups, and peer reviews as requested. Completes CME, VA Training, HIPAA, Security training, and other training mandatory trainings. In additional to the duties listed above the Physician will provide clinical care within the Hematology/Oncology privileges approved by MEC. Work Schedule: The tour of this position is typically Monday-Friday, Administrative hours. Daily Mon-Fri, On-Call on rotation during the clinical business hours. Rotating On-Call may be required nights and weekends. Additional information may be provided during the interview process. Provide Hematology/Oncology on-call services as assigned.
