This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. This physician will be fully qualified and certified to function in both a clinical and administrative role and in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the VAPIHCS. This individual is delegated the authority and responsibility in his/her area of expertise to assume major clinical, consultative, educational, research, and administrative duties related to the delivery of comprehensive women's health care. Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties: Clinical: Primary focus of clinical practice is the delivery of care to an assigned panel of women Veterans. Comprehensive primary care including prevention, self-management, and specialty consultation will be provided to female Veterans. Functions as a member of a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), collaborating with clinical and administrative support to provide timely, quality, coordinated care for Veterans. Utilizes and promotes approved standards of care, procedures, methods and techniques, safety precautions and protocols in their application to this population in all settings. Collaborates with other health care resources to ensure continuity of care. Keeps abreast of latest trends, skills, procedures, and protocols in women's health primary care and serves as a resource person for the medical center and CBOC staff. Acts as supervising and/or collaborating physician to assigned physicians and mid-level practitioners. Administrative: Works in conjunction with the Women Veterans Program Manager (WVPM) and other medical center departments and staff on projects pertaining to the delivery of comprehensive health care for women veterans. Ensures compliance with National VA Women Veterans Program directive. Provides leadership in the operations of the VAPIHCS VAMC Women's Health Clinic including staff training, education, scheduling, panel management, and coordination of care within the multi-disciplinary women's health team. Develops, implements and evaluates Quality Improvement activities relating to women's health care Reviews, tracks and evaluates quality improvement initiatives related to women's health primary care Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
