This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. At the Minneapolis VA, the Director of Occupational Health is involved in setting the policy for the Occupational Health Department, participating in multi-disciplinary Occupational Safety and Health and clinical committees and programs, providing clinical services in work-related injury and illness and supervising OSHA medical surveillance for a variety of surveillance programs. A full range of consultative services is available on site, from preventive patient wellness programs to advanced medical and surgical specialties. The Minneapolis VA has active research programs and is a core training site for the University of Minnesota Medical School. Opportunities for academic engagement include (but are not limited to) teaching and clinical precepting for Occupational Medicine and Family Practice residents. Essential qualifications of successful candidates include excellent interpersonal communication, creative problem-solving skills, and desire to work with a focus on medical center occupational health. An opportunity to collaboratively work with other Occupational Health professionals nationally with other VA Occupational Health Providers in a well-developed collaborative atmosphere involving policy and education. Experience in clinical education or quality improvement is preferred. Applicants should be BC/BE in Occupational Medicine or equivalent board certification. MRO certification is preferred.
