Incumbent will have their own panel of patients for which s/he is responsible for the oversight of oncology care. Responsible for assisting and supervising fellows, residents, and medical students as part of our partnership with Indiana University. S/he also work closely with our VA staff nurse practitioners and participate in multi-disciplinary care through interactions with other oncology treating specialties in various tumor boards as well as with nutrition, pharmacy, oncology rehab, palliative care and social work through programs integrated within the oncology clinic. Responsible for reviewing electronic consults and for covering assigned inpatient consultation weeks in which he/she will provide consultation for hospitalized ward and ICU patients. Required to maintain all VA-mandated certifications, including BLS, and complete all required TMS modules and other mandatory VA training requirements per hospital regulations. Staff physicians are encouraged to participate in various hospital committees, and education programs. Oncology Physicians also have an opportunity to be involved in continuous quality improvement activities and clinical research opportunities through participation as principal investigators or co-investigators on active, open, enrolling clinical trials. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with rotating on-call schedule to include weekends and holidays.
