Registered Nurse Resident Assessment Instrument Minimum Data
The RAI/MDS RN in the Community Living Center (CLC) is a professional Registered Nurse with broad-based clinical knowledge and application in working with the adult and older population and is appointed to work within the RAI/MDS Program. The RAI/MDS RN must have experience in implementation of health promotion and prevention, management of acute and chronic illnesses, palliative and hospice nursing care. The RAI/MDS RN works within the RAI/MDS program and must demonstrate a high level of clinical, collaborative, analytical, and administrative skills while having knowledge and adhering to VHA policies, procedures and evidence based practice in Long Term Care. The RAI/MDS RN is the leader at the unit level in current long- term care standards of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS),
