Learn more. The Department of Veterans Affairs NY Harbor Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Infectious Diseases Physician at the NY (Manhattan) campus. This position requires outstanding teaching, clinical and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include supervision of Infectious Diseases fellows on the inpatient consultation service and in Infectious Diseases clinic, provision of primary outpatient care to patients with HIV/AIDS, participation in hospital-wide committees including the Pharmacy and Therapeutics and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees, administrative responsibilities, lectures to Internal Medicine residents and Infectious Diseases fellows and telehealth consults to areas of our network that lack Infectious Diseases physicians. Expertise to develop and engage in clinical research is highly encouraged. The Manhattan campus is a major teaching affiliate of the New York University Grossman School of Medicine and the candidate will be interviewed by members of the Division of Infectious Diseases and, if successful, will be appointed at a faculty level commensurate with his or her experience. The applicant must have completed three years of Internal Medicine Residency in an accredited program and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases. Board certification in Internal Medicine and Board eligibility or certification in Infectious Diseases is required. Responsibilities at the Division level include attending and mentoring fellows at weekly conferences, including Grand Rounds, didactic lectures, Morbidity and Mortality conference and journal club as well as participation in fellowship committees such as the Clinical Competency Committee and/or Program Evaluation Committee. The successful candidate will participate in fellow recruitment interviews and ranking meetings.
