Administrative Duties include serving as Acting Deputy Associate Chief of Staff (DACOS) and/or Acting Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS), Medical Service in the absence of the D/ACOS, working with the D/ACOS and others on faculty and program development, collaboration with nurse practitioners, and other administrative functions of the Medical Service. The Chief, Cardiology Section, Medical Service, will provide patient care in all aspects of cardiology services that s/he have been credentialed and privileged for by the VASNHCS Medical Executive Committee. Research and other scholarly activity are encouraged and available. The Chief, Cardiology Section is responsible for the cardiology procedural and clinic operations, including, but not limited to, ensuring cardiology provider coverage for all areas and on-call schedules. Functions/Scope Participate in an effective clinical program with attention to patient outcome indicators. Practice within the scope of assigned privileges. Comply with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the facility and agency. Meet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappointment, including ongoing CME. Administrative Comply with prescribed record keeping practices in accordance with the rules, regulations and bylaws. Comply with prescribed information security policy and procedures. Interpersonal relationships - works effectively with patients, families, staff, coworkers and other health care professionals. Participates in Medical Service educational activities and scheduled meetings. Participates in research activities with regard to the subspecialty of Emergency Medicine, as assigned.
