Advance Practice Nurse (APN) is distinguished by autonomy of practice. The APN exercises a high degree of independent judgment with practice characterized by expertise in physical assessment, diagnosis and rendering medical opinions. The APN provides expert quality comprehensive nursing assessments to Veterans enrolled in Home Based Primary Care (HBPC). Demonstrates leadership within a program area that influences the practice of other services or programs. The APN serves as a preceptor, mentor, and/or clinic I instructor for staff.
