The Nurse Recruiter is a registered professional nurse responsible for the oversight and coordination of nurse recruitment, hiring and onboarding. The primary focus of the position is to enhance recruitment efforts of nursing personnel. The Nurse Recruiter benchmarks key performance measures related to recruitment and retention, identifies creative best or unique employment practices and monitors employee feedback regarding hiring. Organize and collaborate with management in implementing hiring guidelines and structures in congruence with HR policies and procedures. Initiate and maintain databases, prepares reports, and works collaboratively with others to assess and evaluate variances and project needs. Facilitate recommendations for systems and/or resource changes that will serve to improve the work force and resource utilization. Work collaboratively with nursing administration, leadership, and Human Resources Management Service to meet resource needs. Maintain systems to track, trend and forecast nursing personnel needs based on trend in the VA and in the community. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with affiliated schools, professional organizations, certifying bodies and program directors of nursing programs in the local region. Serve as a consultant to Nursing Service Leadership on recruitment, retention, selection, hiring, on-boarding, and transfers. Develop and implement instructional material on all areas of responsibility for applicants, nursing staff, leadership, other services, and outside parties to continuously improve recruitment and retention. Monitor, analyze, and report on hiring processes and nurse retention. Forecast needs based on trends in the VA and in the community. Lead and participate in retention activities. Facilitate recruitment activities to include job fairs, social media, resume mining, etc. Work as a liaison to ensure job vacancies are identified quickly and filled efficiently. Subject matter expert and point of contact for all nursing hiring issues, concerns and queries. Assist with review and approval of nurse related job announcements. Provide an engaged candidate experience during recruitment and onboarding of nursing personnel.
