Memorial Healthcare System is looking for a physician with expertise in cardiac organ procurement to join the growing team of specialists at the Memorial Transplant Institute. With active programs in adult and pediatric heart transplant, the selected physician will be available to respond immediately to all calls for organ retrieval via air or ground. Qualified candidates must meet all CMS regulatory requirements for procurement surgeons in accordance with UNOS organ specific guidelines. Qualified candidates may also have an opportunity to work as a surgical assist to the transplant attending. 

Compensation will be commensurate with training and experience.

Memorial Transplant Institute, based at Memorial Regional Hospital, is the result of almost a decade of development. Our goal: To provide the most personalized, innovative care possible in heart and kidney transplant. Memorial Healthcare System entered the organ transplant field in 2010 when our pediatric hospital, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, received federal approval from UNOS to launch a pediatric heart transplant program. Since 2010, we have successfully performed more than 50 pediatric transplants, with patient survival rates exceeding national averages. In recognition of our pediatric program's high standards and performance, we were invited to join Optum's Transplant Center of Excellence Network in 2017. In 2014, UNOS approved the launch of our adult cardiac transplant program. We performed the first adult heart transplant in Broward County in September 2014. Since then, the program has seen steady growth. We set our sights on expanding our services to meet the needs of even more transplant patients in the South Florida area. In 2017, we received federal approval from UNOS to launch an adult kidney transplant program with pediatric transplant capabilities and to perform laparoscopic living donor kidney recoveries at Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. Today, Memorial Transplant Institute provides South Florida with a respected team of experts offering heart and kidney care to patients of any age.
