Under direct supervision of the Fire Alarm Inspection Manager, performs general inspection, testing, corrective and preventative maintenance of fire/life safety equipment throughout PIH Health.
Knowledge and experience in testing suppression systems and special extinguishing systems such as Halon and FM-200.
Strong communication skills; excellent telephone manner; strong English and grammar skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, and under the pressure of deadlines.
Strong knowledge and experience with testing complex fire alarm system, smoke management system, emergency power system, and water delivery systems.
High School, GED or trade school graduate preferred with courses in arithmetic, mathematics, and electricity.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in fire life safety inspections and testing.
Demonstrate competence in electrical mechanical and fire life safety equipment.
Valid California Driver’s License and automobile insurance.
NICET and/or Los Angeles Chief’s Regulation 4 Certificate of Fitness Certified within 6 months of employment.
LA City Fire Card within six (6) months of employment
Intermediate level computer skills; specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to read blue prints and sequence of operations.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 25.
Ability to operate all types of Fire Alarm Systems which will also include the disabling of these systems.
NICET Certified Level 2 or currently in process
