Grade Determinations: The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade: Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. ["The Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator (Emergency Department) is a registered nurse who serves as the expert and resource regarding patient care. The clinical coordinator executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care. They ensure the nursing needs of patients are met and serve as a nursing resource for all disciplines. They keep Nursing Leadership informed of pertinent care issues or personnel management problems and also maintain knowledge of current standards of accrediting bodies and ensures that staff comply with requirements relating to Nursing. Additionally, the clinical coordinator works to ensure compliance to quality standards, such as Joint Commission and service line areas while also systematically evaluating current clinical practice in the medical center. They initiate and lead performance improvement change to improve quality of care, while also assuming a leadership role in interdisciplinary opportunities to improve patient care at the program and/or organizational level. Clinical coordinators help to improve Emergency Department Flow by assessing flow metrics and coordinating with outside entities such as inpatient units, patient flow, and clinical command to achieve optimal patient throughput. Clinical coordinators serve as Clinical Charge for the ED and assist in both employee and patient rounding. Clinical Coordinators help to enhance the patient experience through the development and enhancement of health and safety ED policies. Lastly, clinical coordinators assist with new employee training for the Emergency Department.
