The Organization

ProMedica Health has three distinct divisions: 1) ProMedica Senior Care, 2) Paramount Health Plan and 3) Hospitals and Doctors. This Chief Nursing Officer role supports the Hospitals and Doctors across 11 hospitals, 3 Surgery Centers, and approximately 1,200 employed APP’s and physicians. There are a total of about 2,500 clinicians in the ACO network.

The Position

The Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) is accountable for the effective leadership and management of the delivery of health care services at ProMedica Health in partnership with the leadership team. The CNE ensures consistency in the standard of nursing practice within the clinical settings across ProMedica Health working collaboratively with the regional hospital Chief Nursing Officers. The primary role of the CNE is to standardize, develop, and ensure the appropriate translation of evidence-based care into daily practice throughout the health system continuum. 

The CNE has a matrixed reporting relationship to the President, Acute Services and the President and Chief Medical Officer, Physicians and Acute Care for the advancement of high standards and nursing practice and nursing sensitive patient outcomes, and the overall nursing engagement across the integrated delivery system. In this capacity, the Chief Nursing Officer, guides the regional hospital CNOs and other enterprise nursing leaders in setting the standards in Nursing Practice, Nursing Orientation, and development and the long-range vision and strategic plan for nursing services.
