LPN uses practical nursing knowledge and skills to provide care according to the patient's condition and treatment plan; to provide care in a manner that is therapeutic, supportive, and individualized; and to provide patient/family/care giver education sufficient to allow the patient/family/care giver to not only be compliant with the plan of care but to also promote health and wellness. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria).
