Registered Nurse OR Position Summary:
The circulating nurse is responsible for managing all nursing care within the operating room, observing the surgical team from a broad perspective, and assisting the team to create and maintain a safe, comfortable environment for the patient�s surgery.
Primary Duties:
Knowledge in principles of surgical nursing and aseptic technique. Able to collect, interpret, record and communicate pertinent data and assist in any surgical treatments relevant to the patient�s care in surgery.
Ability to provide a safe environment for patients requiring surgical procedures. Conducts job duties in accordance with established hospital policy and safety/sanitation standards.
Demonstrate proficiency in circulating for surgical procedures.
Ability to assemble all necessary instruments, supplies, equipment and drugs used in the operating groom.
Provides instruction to patients entering the surgical suite. Explains procedures to patients thoroughly, provides assistance, when necessary, monitors patients� comfort and alleviates anxiety during procedures.
Demonstrates ability to supervise ancillary staff in the management of the surgical suite. Able to direct transportation of the patient, management of supplies and cleaning of OR suite through ancillary staff as necessary.
Participates in QI activities for the surgical suite.
Maintains certifications/licenses required without prompting or intervention
Demonstrates competence in the care of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients (when /if assigned to these patients) relative to determining each patient�s age-related and other physical, psychological and cultural needs and carrying patient care activities.
The Registered Nurse OR Full-Time Days candidate will possess the following education, licenses/ certifications, and experience:
BSN preferred
Current California Registered Nurse License
Current BLS Certification
ACLS required within 6 months of hire
PALS required within 6 months of hire

Pay Range: $38.24 - $62.82 Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an employee�s qualifications and experience.
