Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Program Assistant to join the Adult Day Center of Somerset Hills 200 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Hours are flexible between 9:00am and 4:30pm. 1 or 2 days each week - no weekend.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide direct service to our clients including support for: activities of daily living, program activities, and other tasks assigned by the Adult Day Center Manager.
Hands on assistance for clients' personal care as needed.
Treat clients with respect, kindness, and patience; helping to maintain clients' dignity.
Work with team to ensure safety of clients at all times.
Interact with clients in a professional and positive manner.
Assist clients who are unsteady with walking.
Assist with activities and projects at the request of the Activities Coordinator.
Assist during lunchtime to ensure calm, orderly flow of meal time experience for clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to work in a team setting
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Ability to maintain client/family confidentiality
Ability to handle crises in a calm and constructive manner
Ability to assist clients with personal care and toileting when necessary
High School Diploma or equivalent education required
Previous nursing assistant or home health aide experience favored preferred
