The Acute/Transitional Nursing Assistant functions as a member of the nursing team, assisting with ADLS to include, feeding, grooming, incontinent care, personal care, Etc. The NA will also assists with lab draws, EKG's, vital signs, documenting care, and accompany patients to medical appointments. A primary duty will be to ensure a safe environment for patients. Performing treatments which include application of prescribed topical medications and insertion of suppositories, which are prescribed for the purpose of stimulating bowel actions. Exceptions are chemotherapeutic topical medications, debridement agents, Nitro paste and Lidocaine. 10. Responsible for the administration and documentation of treatments, which they are authorized to perform, utilizing BCMA as the documentation tool. 11. Setting up patient care related equipment such as oxygen, suction, and assisting in monitoring proper function of equipment. 12. Reporting patient status to the registered nurse and documenting pertinent information in the medical record including current status and/or subtle changes in patient biopsychosocial and spiritual status. 13. Assisting in orienting patients, family and staff to unit routines and pertinent Medical Center policies. 14. Displaying respect for human dignity and the uniqueness of the patient unrestricted by consideration of social or economic status, personal attributes, or nature of health problems. 15.
