Position Summary: This MA is a member of the Palliative Care Team at Good Samaritan Hospital and performs various duties and functions to support scheduling and triaging of patients for inpatient and outpatient Palliative Care appointments. This person collaborates with and functions under the direction and supervision of members of the Palliative Care Team. This position requires a service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of supporting the delivery of care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision-making is expected in the execution of daily routine duties. Internal contacts may include patients, visitors, and hospital staff and management. External contacts include physicians, patients, families and visitors.
Minimum Requirements: One (1) year experience in physician's office or other medical facility preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants required Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) or Interim Certification for one year before obtaining MA-C Exception to the above requirements made for applicants from a MultiCare sponsored/endorsed program such as the MA-Resident or MA-Apprenticeship programs.
