The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Mental Health Nursing Service. This individual utilized critical thinking in the application of advanced clinical health care knowledge and skills in providing comprehensive care to Veterans. The experienced PMHNP is a highly skilled APRN who has advanced education and clinical training and experience in the diagnosis and management of patient mental health care. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
