WMC Health is seeking a physician to join the division of Gynecologic Oncology at Westchester Medical Center Health Network. The division of Gynecologic Oncology currently has five full-time physicians and offers comprehensive gynecologic cancer care including surgical services, infusion services and radiation treatments including brachytherapy. We have an adult gyn cancer survivorship program and a dedicated outpatient palliative medicine program within the division. We have a diverse portfolio of research including industry sponsored trials, cooperative group trials (NRG, GOG partners), investigator-initiated projects (performance improvement, resident and medical student ongoing projects) and are looking for a faculty member who will help us to continue to expand our research efforts. As a division, we emphasize innovations in scholarly work and value quality improvement efforts. We welcome candidates who have a strong interest and background in teaching, clinical trials and health systems science. We are seeking a candidate who is committed to working collaboratively with the gynecologic oncology faculty and clinical providers and will be an active member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
This goal for this position is to continue to grow the cancer program at the main Westchester Medical Center campus as well as helping to expand and grow our outreach program within the Westchester Medical Center Health Network in Orange, Putnam and Ulster. This will allow us to provide comprehensive gynecologic cancer care to patient populations who have had limited access to gynecologic oncologists.
The candidate will have an academic appointment through the New York Medical College and will work with and teach the 17 residents in the WMC Ob/Gyn residency program who cover both the obstetrical and inpatient gynecology services. The division is actively applying for an ACGME accredited gynecologic oncology fellowship training program for 2024 and all the faculty will play active roles in fellow education both through formal didactics as well as hands-on medical and surgical training. Qualifications:The successful applicant must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.
