The Palliative Medicine Division at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville resides in the Department of Internal Medicine. The team consists of 5 board-certified palliative medicine physicians from multiple disciplines and departments, including Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Oncology, and Neurology.  The physicians work alongside an interdisciplinary team that includes representation from nursing, social Work, Spiritual Care, and advanced practice providers. Mayo Clinic has an active inpatient palliative care consult service, outpatient clinic including embedded clinics in a variety of departments, and telemedicine and home visit program, serving complex, seriously ill patients with a broad range of diseases.

The Palliative Medicine Program supports an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and there are ample opportunities for teaching residents and fellows as well as the pursuit of clinical and translational research projects. The academic practice at Mayo offers a diversity of experiences with opportunities for education, research, administration, committee membership, and clinical collaboration. CANDIDATES must be an M.D. or D.O. with a Florida license or eligibility for a Florida license and must be board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Successful candidates will also have an interest in a career in academic palliative medicine.

Must be BE or BC in Hospice/Palliative Medicine and have or be able to obtain a Florida Medical license.  This is a physician only position, M.D., D.O. or equivalent.  Jacksonville is the largest city in area in the continental United States.
